| Guys Having a bit of a headache with something. I currently get about 3000 responses per day in my gmail account. I have the gmail account set to forward directly to a proper pop3 account which I then access via Outlook. I have rules set in outlook so it effectively acts as an autoresponder . I don't use Gmail autoreply because there's no way to time the responses and with what I'm doing an instant response wouldn't make any sense to the people I'm marketing to. So 24 hours after I've recievved the email in the gmail account I go to outlook switch on the relevent pop3 and download the emails with my rules turned on. Here's the problem. Quite often I get some kind of error on outlook, then what happens is it bloody starts downloading ALL the emails again. So I send out say 600 emails, outlook moans about a connection issue or something, so I hit send/receive again but instead of just carrying on, it fracking starts download from the beginning again. Which of course mean all the people who were in the first 600 get the same dam autoresponse again. Not to mention downloading emails to outlook is a bloody slow affair. Anybody had any experience of this or how to cure it, I'll actually pay an expert on the matter if you really know what you;'re doing. I've heard perhaps IMAP is more reliable. | |
